365 Projects in 365 Days

My previous New Year's resolution was to be creative everyday with my Cricut, but since I've started my blog 2 years ago I have come across so many new exciting things like stamps, digi stamps, non-Cricut projects using chipboard, stickers, etc. and now my addition is the Silhouette Cameo. I will be posting many pictures and tutorials of all my projects. I will be making scrapbook layouts, cards, tags, embellishments and altered items. My goal is to create 365 projects in 365 days.

#29 Mason Benefit Blog Hop Alien Card

Welcome to the Mason Benefit Blog Hop hosted by MONICA, if you are here from ANA MARIA http://www.shortycreations.com/ then you are in the right spot!  I'm so glad you are reading this.  Mason is a sweet 2 year old boy who has endured a lot of medical problems from such a young age.

THIS is THE LINK (http://thesearsfam.com/masons-riddle) where you can read about young Mason's life.  It was recently updated by his mother, Dana.

We are sending cards of encouragement to Mason and his family to uplift their spirits.

The challenge
Create an Encouragement Card with the outside being for Mason and the inside for his parents that will be mailed to the family.   What's nice about THIS blog hop is that YOU, the reader, get to participate in this challenge as well!

It's a win-win situation, if you think about it.  Mason and his family are going to receive a lot of wonderful cards, and you get to submit entries to win some nice blog candy along the way!

The link for your Encouragement Card submissions will be active from Sunday, February 19th at  5 AM Pacific Time Zone, through Thursday, February 23rd midnight, Pacific Time Zone.  The Winners will be announced on Monica's Blog after the 23rd.

To enter more than once, there are a few things to do:
1.  A. Create your card for Mason, and please include a note to his parents to let them know you are thinking of them.
B. Create a post showcasing your card creation donation on your own blog then link your blog post's website to Monica's website:
C. MAIL your encouragement card to Mason and his family.
WILL BE EMAILED to you after you Link your Card.
2. Donate via the PayPal button that's at the bottom of this post.
Please let Monica know if you donate by leaving a comment on her blog.

There are two sponsors for this blog hop:
1. The Twinery is donating a Sample Pack which will have 3 of their new colors included!
2. SVGCuts has donated a $25 gift card to their online store!
There will also be a chance to win blog candy along the hop from the participants!  So be sure to stop by every single blog to see some great ideas and possibly win some extra Blog Candy of your own!

For Mason's card I went with n outer space theme my inspiration for my card was my son Aidan who is obsessed with aliens right now. I figured if my little boy likes aliens Mason will probably like aliens too! The svg set I used is called "Out of This World SVG Collection" by SVG Cuts.

To create Mason's card I made a long card to fit into a regular size business envelope the card is 4 x 9.25 inches long! I cut out the alien, star and sentiment using SCAL 3 along with my lovely Silhouette Cameo. Check out this sentiment it's only 1.5 inches with lots of detail and it cut perfectly, love my Cameo! I also added googly eyes, a ribbon bow tie, Stickles, ribbon and I used a border punch to create the tiny dots.
